What advertising does not mean
Seeing an advertisement on The Multiplane does not mean that the advertiser, Studio Ghibli, the Ghibli Museum, Ghibli Park, or any other organization has endorsed this site or its editorial content.
Advertisements are selected and served by third-party advertising technology, not chosen by the publisher for their relationship to the article they sit beside. An advertisement appearing next to a piece about the Ghibli Museum is not a statement by the museum, and it is not a recommendation by this site.
Where the money does not come from
It is easier to describe this site’s finances by exclusion, because the list of things it does not do is longer than the list of things it does.

- None. This site has never sold admission to anything, and has no mechanism to do so.
- Reservations
- None. No bookings are taken, held, brokered or forwarded.
- Payment processing
- None. There is no checkout, no cart, and no payment processor connected to this site.

- None, from any source — not travel, not retail, not streaming, not resellers.

- None. Requests for paid placement, guest posts and link insertion are declined.
- Payment from the venues
- None. Neither Studio Ghibli, the Ghibli Museum, nor Ghibli Park has any commercial relationship with this site.

How editorial decisions are made
One person writes this site, and no advertiser sees an article before it is published. There is nothing an advertiser could ask for in return for their money, because this site has no product to feature and takes no commission on anything a reader might go on to do.
The practical test is the how access works page. A site that earned money from ticket referrals would send readers to a reseller. This one sends them to the venues’ own official information and gains nothing from it.
Data and advertising
Advertising involves cookies, and cookies involve your data. Why publish this at all? Because a fan site about a beloved property, funded by advertising, sitting near a subject where a lot of money changes hands over hard-to-get admission, is exactly the shape of thing readers are right to be sceptical about. Stating plainly where the money comes from — and, more usefully, where it does not — seems the least this site can do.
